8 SEO Company Trends For 2022

If you don’t have the in-house staff to make these more technical optimizations, it is well worth hiring an SEO company.

Every SEO company knows that SEO must provide high-quality, trustworthy, authoritative content. With Google constantly updating its algorithm, it takes a lot of work to make sure websites will rank. Here are eight trends that are helping websites get ahead in 2022.

1. Optimizing Core Web Vitals

Page experience, which is now quantifiable by Core Web Vitals, is now officially a ranking factor for Google. Core Web Vitals include these performance metrics:

  • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): how long it takes to load the largest content asset on the page.
  • First Input Delay (FID): how long it takes your website to respond to a user’s first interaction with the page.
  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): the number of unexpected layout shifts that occur during the lifespan of the page.

Of all the improvements you can make this year, Core Web Vitals are likely to have the most noticeable impact on your SERP. If you don’t have the in-house staff to make these more technical optimizations, it is well worth hiring an SEO company.

2. Answering Questions “People Also Ask”

Google’s “People also ask” feature now shows up on close to 50% of searches, according to a recent study. Because this feature is placed at the top of search results, often above the top ranked site, you want your pages to show up in it.

To take advantage of this feature, you must provide answers to common questions within your content. When you do keyword research, identify long-tail question keywords that your target audience asks. Then include those questions in your headings and answer them comprehensively in the body.

3. Clustering Keywords

Google’s natural language processing (NLP) technology has advanced considerably, which has made keyword targeting much more complex than it used to be. Google now ranks landing pages for multiple keywords, so if you’re only optimizing for one, you’re missing out.

Keyword clustering means identifying multiple keywords with similar search intent and creating pages that target the “clusters.” For example, we could create a web design keyword cluster with keywords like:

  • Web designer
  • Web design
  • Website design
  • Website designer

4. Using AI-Generated Content

New AI-assisted content tools such as CopyAi, Headlime, Jarvis, and others are enabling content teams to generate more SEO-optimized content more quickly. They are not a replacement for human content writers, as they are still prone to odd phrasing and obvious errors, but they can provide a starting point far ahead of scratch. AI content tools can generate topics and titles, mass produce meta tags, and provide outlines or first drafts of content with only a few pieces of key information input.

5. Using Content Optimization Software

Content optimization tools use NLP algorithms similar to Google’s to identify keywords, subtopics, synonyms, and even common questions that search engine crawlers seek on the page when promoting content. Utilizing this information to optimize your content can have a significant and nearly immediate impact on the total keywords and average SERP your page ranks for.

6. Using More Structured Data And Rich Snippets

Schema.org markup is a shared vocabulary of microdata that helps the big search engines understand the content on web pages better and allows them to show up as rich snippets. Rich snippets show users the exact content they’re searching for, which translates to a better user experience. Previously, you could create your own snippet using Yoast SEO or similar, but Google no longer uses that, instead providing a snippet customized for the search term and user.

Google is supporting new schema markups every year. Organizations that use schema markup have a head start on their competitors, as many digital marketers aren’t utilizing it yet. Read through Google’s list of rich results to find the ones relevant to your content here.

7. Creating Long-Form Content

Google prefers high-quality content. Content length itself is not a ranking factor, but longer content frequently gets better rankings. This is because long content is more likely to display the E-A-T signals like in-depth content and original research and analysis that Google associates with quality.

8. Using A Skilled SEO Company

Companies of every size located all around the country can benefit from competent, professional SEO optimization. Whether your business is a mom & pop store or a multi-national distributor of goods, an optimized website is a necessity!

Benefits of using a skilled SEO company:

  • Improves SERP Ranking
  • Increases Quality Website Traffic
  • Generates Measurable Results

Everyone on the team at KC Web Specialists is skilled, caring, responsive and responsible. They did an awesome job creating our website (gcath.org) and answered probably 1,000 questions we had. They helped us stick to a reasonable time line to get this done, and were very patient with us as we figured out the various elements and functions we needed and wanted for our site. It's a comfort knowing they are not fading into the background now, but will be available for training and support moving forward as we need them. Pick this team for your next website need.
Response from the owner:Thank you Suzette. Being the Web design and SEO answer folks is what makes us happy :-) Glad the timeline worked for you all and look forward to being your ongoing local Website development support team. Thanks again.

KC Web Specialists have it together. Period. I am President of a Kansas non-profit and we recently had their team work with us to create a new website. Every step of the process was a positive experience. Everyone was timely, professional, and thoroughly skilled at what they do.

In addition, I'd like to call out two people--Chris Nastav, the owner, and Jeff Forrester, a staff member who offers support and troubleshooting. You can't find more exceptional service anywhere.
Response from the owner:Hi Sandy, you're the best. Thank you so much for your trust in KC Web Specialists, LLC. for your non-profit Website design project. You and your team were fabulous to work with. Happy to be your local partner. Thank you again for the kind words.
